1. Share the ProtectionAgents folder on the DPM Server
2. Install the agent on the server to be protected eg: \\DPMSERVER\ProtectionAgents\RA\3.0.7696.0\amd64\ use exe or msi
3. On the server to be protected run ‘SetDpmServer.exe -dpmservername -isnondomainserver -username ‘. This will create local username that the DPM server can connect to the protected server, and will set up firewall rules to allow protection.
4. Attach the new server from the DPM server, specify the username and password that you created earlier
